In-Facility & On-Site Service
Bring your generator to our state-of-the-art Brooklyn facility for repair, or our mobile teams can service your equipment on-site. We handle generators from 2 kW up to 2 MW in our shop, with on-site service available for 2+ MW systems.
Service Area
We serve all five NYC boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, Northern New Jersey, and Southern Connecticut.
Stamford Alternator Models We Service
We service all Stamford (Cummins Generator Technologies) alternator product lines including the HC, HCI, UCI, and PI series. Our experience covers Stamford alternators from small 5 kVA single-phase units to large 2500+ kVA three-phase industrial alternators used in prime power, standby, and marine applications worldwide.
Stamford AVR and Excitation Repair
Stamford alternators use several AVR types including the AS440, SX440, SX460, MX321, MX341, and the newer AS480 and AS540. We diagnose and replace all Stamford AVR models and troubleshoot the complete excitation circuit including the PMG (Permanent Magnet Generator), exciter field, rotating rectifier, and main stator output. We stock common Stamford AVRs for same-day replacement.
PMG Testing and Replacement
Many Stamford alternators use a Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) to provide stable excitation power independent of the output voltage. PMG failure causes loss of voltage control and can be confused with AVR failure. We test PMG output with precision instruments and replace failed PMG units to restore proper excitation system performance.
Rotating Rectifier (Diode Bridge) Service
The rotating rectifier assembly converts AC exciter output to DC for the main rotor field. Failed diodes cause reduced output, unbalanced voltage, and in severe cases, complete loss of generator output. We test individual diodes, replace failed components, and inspect varistors and surge protection devices in the rotating rectifier assembly.
